Dark Night Walk

An exploration of my Quaker journey. I will be posting my thoughts about the faith and practice of Quakers, and also about my research into the unfortunate historical Quaker attempts to assimilate Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island.

One of the first books I read on Quakers was Dark Night Journey by Sandra Cronk. She writes about the dark night of the soul, and I have found that my own experiences correspond with such a journey. Quakers often focus on “light” imagery, but I have found the darkness can be just as holy, and necessary. I also love to go for night walks.

  • My Simple Faith
    Quakers are often known as “Friends” (notice the capital F). I have heard that this name was chosen from the Christian scriptures.
